This was a great overview of Castles in Luxembourg and Part of the Mullerthal Region. The hike was very short and easy so good for most people. We got to see the Scheissendempel Bridge which was so gorgeous! The guide met us at the trail and was very knowledgeable and went in to great detail about the area and how it developed. He was so sweet and had an obvious affection for Mullerthal and the surrounding area. We drove to the Beaufort Castle, unfornately it was closed for renovations (you could see where they were reconstructing some things that had crumbled) but walking around it was still gorgeous. This meant we had extra time in Vianden. We asked the driver if he could drop us off at the castle instead of the bottom of the town and that was perfect. I had read some reviews that it took so long to get to the castle that there was barely any time there so I would advise asking (but this driver mostly spoke french so it helps to have someone in the group that does as well). The castle was gorgeous & the views were stunning, we had some trouble figuring out how to get the audio guide (the ticketing woman was not super friendly that day) but they have a map that shows basics of what the artifacts and rooms were. The town was cute and there were a few restaurants on the river that you could eat at before getting back on the bus at the bottom of the town. Then we were on the way to the town of Echternach, which was a cute small town with rich culture. The medieval walls were all around and the church & monastery were fabulous. Our guide met us at the bus drop-off and she was absolutely wonderful and so funny. Unfortunately the UNESCO video on the hopping procession was unavailable but our guide told us a lot about it from her perspective and it was very interesting. They give you earbuds to listen to some pre-recorded commentary on the drive but they rarely ever said anything, would have been nice if there was more information/history/fun facts throughout. Overall, I would say this tour is more than worth the money! But make sure you do some research about the castles & to-dos in Vianden before you go so you know what to expect because the driver was just that- a driver so if you wanted more information about anything you have to find it on your own (which is absolutely fine! just be prepared). I went in November which is definitely not peak tourist time in these places so many things were closed but it was still really fun. It was a great way to see a large portion of Luxembourg in a relatively short amount of time and I would recommend to anyone.

The tour was great. The bus is modern and comfortable with a good audio guide while on board. The driver doesn't speak English but managed to communicate everything we needed easily. First we took a nature walk - the guide was extremely friendly and informative and the walk was interesting along a river showing us the geological history of the country. We passed Beaufort castle which is unfortunately closed, but got 10 minutes to take photos before heading on to Vianden. Vianden town is fairytale pretty and the castle itself is well worth a visit. 2.5 hours is plenty of time to walk to the castle and look around but don't dawdle! After leaving Vianden we headed on to Echternach to look around the basilica. This was great and the guide was excellent, but we would have liked a few more minutes to see the town. It's a full day - 8 hours on the dot - and you have to eat on the bus if you want to make the most of your time, but I'd highly recommend this as a way to see the country. It's a little expensive but I can't think of a better way of seeing as much without hiring a car.

The tour was really interesting, you can experience a side of Luxembourg that is really different from the main city. However, time runs out very fast and especially for the visit to the Vianden Castle it is absolutely not enough. They give you only 2 hours to visit the castle, but: 1. the coach leaves you at the opposite side of the city, far away from the castle; 2. then you need to walk for 20/30 minutes towards the castle, in a difficult and very hard slope route (not very good for strollers or wheel chairs) 3. then you have 1 hour max to visit the castle, so a little bit in a rush 4. then you have to go back to the parking to reach the coach, so consider another 20 minutes. Considering that you reach the castle during lunch time, basically you don’t have time for lunch. I would suggest to reach the castle and having lunch in the bar/restaurant inside the castle. So: a nice experience, but more time would be preferable

Booking was simple and Google maps brings you right to the stop to catch the bus. Driver had no English and didn't seem sure on where she was going. Would have preferred to miss the first "castle" and just spend the extra time in Viandin. There was very little time to grab food and do a full tour of Viandin as we were dropped off down the town and not at the castle so everything was a bit rushed. The town of Viandin is beautiful but would have preferred the extra time at the castle. The chair lift in Viandin was not open, even though the tour recording stated you could get the chair lift up and walk through the woods to the Viandin and so there was a wasted trip up there, having to double back to walk up to the castle from the town. Both tour guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

What I love most about it is exploring the Mullerthal Trail, the bridge, the waterfall, going to Vianden Castle with the little city train included and our guide who is very knowledgeable. We have 45 minutes to explore Echternach. I just wish the guided tour last only 20 minutes and we have the rest of the alloted time to explore on our own. It would be nicer if the driver mentions at exactly what time we should be back than just saying 2 hours or 45 mins etc. Other than that, Everything is pleasant and will definitely recommend to someone who wants to see the highlights of Luxembourg.

The directions to the bus were very clear and the bus driver was very polite and accommodating to everyone on the bus. It was a very fast paced trip and I recommend everyone bring snacks. All of the tour guides were passionate about the subjects they were talking about and were very paient with a rather rude and out of control family on the trip. Everyone was very professional and I recommend the trip for anyone who wants to see Luxembourg outside of just the city

The tour starts with a ~45minutes stop at Luxembourg's most overrated tourist attraction, the Schiessentümpel waterfall. Normally, participants get to walk there along a probably scenic path above the street, and that may be worth it - in our case, the path was blocked by fallen trees, so we walked along the street to and from the waterfall, so: not great. The next stop, Beaufort, was very good, you get tickets to the castle and the time is sufficient to view it. Alas, in our case some people stayed 20min extra, so we only got 1.5h in Vianden instead of 2. Sounds long? Not if you let people off only on the other side of the town, meaning a 30 minutes walk up to the castle and same time back - you get tickets to the castle, but not anywhere enough time to actually use them (let alone grab something to eat). Even if we had had 2h, it wouldn't have been enough for the castle - extremely disappointing, as Vianden is the most beautiful attraction on the tour. Last stop Echternach, 1h guided tour which was nice, but again, no time to sit down anywhere to eat. If we had known in advance, we'd have brought generous lunch packs; as it was, I got afraid for my dad who's a diabetic. It would make much more sense to go from Beaufort to Echternach and end the tour in Vianden, giving people the chance to just stay longer and return to Lux city by public transport. Also, letting folks off the bus at the street leading up to the castle (which is on the path anyway) wouldn't be that difficult and would give them so much more time with the main attraction. Last, have your drivers announce the return time in multiple languages (not just French), with a sign, and drive off when people aren't back within 5 minutes of the departure time (or build in generous buffer time)! Spoiling the entire group's experience for some stragglers is not fair.

Itinerary to the Beaufort and Vianden castles, Echtenach old town and Schiessentumpels waterfall is excellent! Bus transportation was also excellent and safe. Both local tour guides at Schiessentumpels and Echtenach were excellent, especially the woman at Echtenach. Pitfall is that driver did NOT speak English and therefore could not answer our questions. During the Vianden Castle 2 hr stop, we asked with no answer where the chairlift starts. Driver dropped us at the bus station with no explanation. We wasted ~20 mins trying to find the chairlift and walked an extra 1 km, losing valuable time exploring up at the castle and having lunch. Otherwise - a great tour!

Overall it is a really nice tour for those looking for a quick experience outside de city, enjoy the countryside, get amazed by the Müllerthal waterfalls and learn about luxembourg's history! However I would rather to have more free time to explore the Echternach village on my own. It is still a really nice tour with friendly and funny staff. I highly recommend it! It would be nice to have similar tours but with different routes.

This tour was just great. Although I live in Luxembourg, I never took the time to visit the country and this nature and castle tour was just great. Everything was perfectly organised, we moved from one site to the other as scheduled and the various guides in the different sites were on time, always captivating and interesting. The weather was exceptionally good and I had the privilege to be in excellent company. I definitely recommend the tour

It’s difficult to have lunch in Vianden and visit the Chateau and the Castle and use the telechair. May be better have more time there or advice the customer to bring some sandwiches with you, but it’s a necessary trip if you are In Luxembourg. Unforgettable experience!!! I really recommend it!!!

I booked the tour online and it was an amazing one-click experience. I liked it a lot that they followed up with a phone call to make sure how many of us will be going, as I had booked a family tour. Then on the morning of the trip, the minibus was already waiting for us. The driver, Didier, was very welcoming and friendly, and the journey was extremely pleasant and smooth going. We enjoyed some time by ourselves and we also had guided tours for Mullerthal and Echtenach where we were able to learn a lot about the interesting history of the town and the life of St. Willibrord. The only drawback I could think of was that the time was really short. We so liked the journey that we would have spent even more time on this trip. All in all, I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a day to spare and would like to spend it traveling in the country in a nice company and enjoying medieval castles and ancient towns.
