General Patton Memorial Museum : Spotlight on the Battle of the Bulge

The museum is a tribute to General George S. Patton Jr. He was the commander of the Third US Army whose troops liberated the town of Ettelbruck during the Second World War, on 25 December 1944. Various photographs, documents and authentic objects illustrate the invasion, repression and persecution perpetrated by Germany and the liberation of Luxembourg in September 1944. The exhibition also tells the general’s life story, displays military equipment and describes aerial warfare over Luxembourg. Anyone wishing to follow further in General Patton’s footsteps can visit his last resting place in the American cemetery in Hamm on the outskirts of Luxembourg City.
