At the beginning of the 20th century a monastery was built in Cinqfontaines. In 1941, the Gestapo chased away the Priests of the Sacred Heart and transformed the building into an internment camp where Jews were held before being deported to ghettos and extermination camps. At the foot of the monastery, a monument and historical explanations recall those dark years of the history of Cinqfontaines.
