National Strike Monument
After the introduction of forced conscription in August 1942, workers in Wiltz laid down their work. The strike movement spread quickly throughout the country. The occupiers responded to the general strike with brutal violence and 21 Luxembourgers were executed. A monument in the form of a lighthouse in Wiltz commemorates the victims of the general strike.
