MusicDays Vianden | Tamara Lukasheva Quartet
The uniqueness of this group lies in its poly-stylistic blend stemming from diverse international influences. Tamara, the leader and vocalist of the group, composes in a manner that organically combines different styles, musical languages, and genres to create a new style. Born in Odessa to a family of Ukrainian musicians, Tamara moved to Cologne in 2010 and formed a quartet that became one of her major projects. The Tamara Lukasheva Quartet won the “Jungen Deutschen Jazz Preis” in 2014, followed by the “Neuer Deutscher Jazz Preis” in Mannheim in 2017. In 2020, Tamara won the “WDR Jazz Preis” in the composition category. The group participates in festivals in Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Austria, and Germany. They collaborate with the WDR-Bigband, the International Symphony Orchestra Lviv, and release CDs and solo albums. Since 2021, Luxembourgish drummer Mathieu Clement has joined the quartet.
