Splish, splash! More than a hundred years after the one-off performance of the musical An der Schwemm (1922) by the Luxembourg composer Lou Koster, an adaptation is now being performed at the Festival de Wiltz. The writer and journalist Batty Weber wrote the libretto in Luxembourgish at the time. The story of Lory, a self-confident swimmer, who resists the advances of the civil servant Zengerlé in the swimming pool and at the same time falls in love with the handsome soldier and swimming instructor Reddy, is being performed. The swimming pool symbolises the melting pot of 1920s social life. The stage belongs entirely to the main character, who fights for her freedom.
