PAST PRESENT FUTURE
CAPE 2000-2025
As part of the CAPE’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the PAST PRESENT FUTURE exhibition takes over the foyer and invites the public on a journey through time. Structured in three sections, it retraces the history of CAPE, highlights its current key players, and opens a space for collective reflection on its future. More than just a retrospective, PAST PRESENT FUTURE is a dynamic and participatory exhibition, where every visitor becomes an active part of this evolving story.
PAST.
.
A return to the roots: archives, photographs, and iconic objects (such as the laying of the foundation stone) retrace the founding moments of CAPE, accompanied by video testimonials from key figures who marked its beginnings and contributed to its development.
PRESENT
A dive into today’s artistic and cultural life: through ongoing projects, portraits of artists, the team, and partners, the exhibition highlights those who bring CAPE to life every day. It also reveals the behind-the-scenes of creation and sheds light on the role of everyone involved – artists, technicians, programmers, patrons, and the public – in making a cultural event happen.
FUTURE
An invitation to collectively imagine CAPE’s future: through interactive workshops, expression spaces, and contributions from the public, everyone is invited to share ideas and help shape tomorrow’s CAPE. Among the flagship initiatives, a time capsule will preserve messages and visions for future generations, while an installation created with students during a collaborative workshop will illustrate their visions of tomorrow’s audience through figurines.
