Culture & History in Éislek

Exploring northern Luxembourg

In northern Luxembourg, Éislek invites visitors to experience nature and history in a unique combination. Between dense forests, deep valleys and windswept plateaus, castles, fortresses and museums tell the story of the region’s rich and eventful past. Those who look closely will spot traces of bygone eras all across the landscape.

The region boasts a remarkable cultural heritage, which can be experienced in many different ways: visit the medieval castle in Vianden, explore Clervaux Castle with its world-famous photo exhibition The Family of Man, learn more about WWII history at the Battle of the Bulge Museum in Wiltz or reflect at remembrance sites such as Schumannseck. Even smaller places like Esch-sur-Sûre or Stolzembourg tell stories – through lovingly restored buildings or the remains of forgotten industry.

Historical & Cultural Sites in Éislek

Éislek offers a fascinating and surprisingly diverse journey into the past. Those unfamiliar with this rural region will be amazed by the richness of its cultural offering.
