Trauliicht – the Luxembourgish Halloween
Long before pumpkins were carved, children in Éislek hollowed out beetroots, placed candles inside and carried them through the villages to ward off spirits. Today, this tradition lives on as Trauliicht, often described as Luxembourg’s very own Halloween.
