Cross-border hiking is a unique experience that allows you to explore different landscapes, cultures, and natural wonders. A fascinating example of cross-border hiking can be found in the Our region, where the river serves as a border. One bank is on the Luxembourg side, while the other belongs to Germany.

Nat’Our Route 1- Where 3 countries meet

Embark on an unforgettable journey along Nat'Our Route 1, where adventure awaits at the crossroads of three countries: Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg. This scenic route winds its way along the Luxembourgish and German banks of the Our River.

This hiking expedition takes you right to the heart of Europe. The exploration begins in the park of the European monument, where towering stones symbolize the unity of the six founding members of the European Union. This significant monument stands proudly at the meeting point of Luxembourg, Germany, and Belgium. It's where the three national borders converge, at the confluence of the Réibech and Our Rivers.

Throughout the hike, you'll be immersed in the wild beauty of the Our valley. As hikers venture south, the valley becomes narrower and steeper. They then conquer a short yet challenging ascent to Königslei, where they will be rewarded with a mesmerizing panoramic view of the valley below. In the past, the Our River was home to thousands of pearl mussels. Today, the region is home to numerous other rare animal species that add charm to this remarkable place.
