Description
The "Sentier des Passeurs" or "escape route" commemorates the escape routes of Luxembourg resistance fighters and conscientious objectors who fled to Belgium in the final years of the Second World War.
Two circular trails start at Troisvierges station and trace the historical routes: The northern circular route (12 km) leads along former border paths, while the southern circular route (9 km) tells of the resistance in the village of Sassel and passes the Auschwitz memorial in Cinqfontaines.
Information boards along the way provide an insight into the events of the time and preserve the memory of these courageous deeds.
On request at tours@visit-eislek.lu, you can also take this walk with a qualified guide who will provide you with all the important historical information.
