Forest bathing, literally translated as “Shinrin-Yoku,” is a preventive and immersive form of therapy that has been officially recognized in Japan since the 1980s and is gaining more and more followers. Forest bathing allows you to relax among the trees, disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and connect more deeply with nature—an inexhaustible source of well-being.
The principle is simple! You walk through the forest, consciously taking in your surroundings to recharge your energy, breathing in the fresh air, finding your inner self, and enjoying the tranquility of the forest with all your senses: smell, touch, taste, sight, and hearing are all engaged as you take the time to explore your surroundings. The trail begins at the Ettelbruck campground and winds through the forest for just over 2.5 km. You should plan on spending about 2 hours walking this trail and fully enjoying the practical exercises of forest therapy in the “Wellerbësch” forest.
