Description
Close to the Obersauer reservoir, the Auto-Pédestre Kaundorf leads you to the Përmesknupp, passing beautiful viewpoints.
The Auto-Pédestre starts at the village exit. From here, you go through the forest to the Runtschelt viewpoint, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Obersauer reservoir.
Next, continue to the former underground bunker of the resistance fighters from World War II. This bunker was mainly used by draft resisters who wanted to avoid conscription into the German Wehrmacht. It was restored in 1987 and has been under monument protection since then.
After a short detour to the east, the hiking trail turns back and leads you, after a few kilometers and a steep descent, to the Përmesknupp.
This pilgrimage site, which is visited annually by a procession, consists of a small 18th-century chapel with a spring. Here you can also discover the ruins of a former manor with a hermitage.
Now it goes continually uphill back to Kaundorf. After two kilometers through the forest, you walk through the village to reach your starting point.
