Description
The approximately 9 km long HistoryRoute invites you to take a journey through time around the village of Basbellain. The walk takes about 2.5 hours and runs without major inclines. At 11 stations, information boards provide exciting insights into the eventful past of the region.
The route starts at the parking lot at the church in the town center of Basbellain, one of the oldest settlements in Luxembourg. Those arriving by train can reach the starting point via the Cornelysmillen nature trail from Troisvierges station.
The route runs variedly through open landscape, along historic wayside crosses, and past scenic viewpoints. Part of the path leads through the Cornelysmillen nature reserve. This is a wetland with rich flora and fauna. There is also a historic mill and small forested areas along the way, alternating with wide views over the plateaus of the Our Nature Park.
