The tour begins at Vianden's old railway station, a place full of history. Stroll over the old bridge and past Victor Hugo's house before skirting the river Our and taking in the view of Vianden's majestic castle. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will discover the narrow streets, the partially preserved town wall and the impressive Church of the Trinitarians. You will continue up to the imposing castle of Vianden, which is considered to be one of the largest and most beautiful feudal residences of the Romanesque and Gothic eras. Built between the 11th and 14th centuries on the foundations of a Roman castel and a Carolingian refuge, the castle long belonged to the Grand Ducal family before becoming state property in 1977. The castle's bistro and visitor centre offer the perfect opportunity to take a break at the end of your visit.
