The "Kalleksuewen" leisure area above Ettelbruck is an ideal excursion and getaway spot for the whole family. On the site of the former lime kiln you can find today an observation tower with a panoramic view of the city, a large playground and a barbecue area. Information boards provide details about the flora and fauna of the surroundings as well as about the remains of the old lime kiln, which was shut down in 1946.

Picnic area Déck Lee
The "Déck Lee" has an eventful history behind it. This impressive rock served as a retreat for 30 Eschdorfers on 25 December 1944 before the deadly fighting between the German occupier and the American troops. Today, a sign commemorates the events. The "Déck Lee", located in the Milbich valley, is also a great place for a picnic. The best way to reach it is via the Wassersënneswee.

The picnic area Kinneksknäppchen
The Kinneksknäppchen, king's hill in English, is a vantage point on the ruins of Brandenburg Castle. There is a great picnic area just below the lookout point. The best way to reach the Kinneksknäppchen is via hiking trail TA4.
