An afternoon with alpacas: Walk around Heiderscheid
Get up close with the alpacas and stroll through the countryside around Heiderscheid together, a relaxing experience for young and old alike.
The visit to the alpacas from the Upper Sûre Nature Park begins at the farm, where participants can view the stables and learn more about the animals’ care, origin, and behaviour. The group then moves to the pasture, where the alpacas are introduced. Together with Claudia, the farm owner, or her husband, guests learn how to calmly catch and prepare the animals, often a highlight that sets a cheerful tone.
The walk then continues through the scenic surroundings of Heiderscheid. Thanks to their steady pace and gentle nature, alpacas are ideal companions for families, adults, and groups alike. Along the way, guests learn about the animals’ social behavior and how their wool is processed. Products made from alpaca wool are also produced on-site and can be viewed at the farm. As the walk takes place entirely outdoors, it varies with the seasons, offering a unique experience each time.
