Description
This 5 km long circular hike near Asselborn combines nature experience with exciting insights into modern conservation work.
The starting point is the Asselborn Mill. From here, the path leads through the valley of the Trëtterbaach to the Lérésmillen. The landscapes are characterized by regionally typical wet meadows, extensive grazing areas, and renatured stream sections.
Information boards along the route convey knowledge about the LIFE Éislek project, which is committed to preserving typical habitats in northern Luxembourg. Particularly impressive is the renatured Trëtterbaach. Over more than 300 meters, the stream was relocated back to a natural riverbed. This not only promotes biodiversity but also improves flood protection.
The route is easy to walk and therefore also suitable for families with older children – ideal for everyone who wants to experience nature and at the same time learn more about preserving species-rich habitats.
