A circular route with history: The former game park in Clervaux
A few steps from Clervaux Castle, a hiking trail begins that leads through a piece of forgotten cultural heritage. Where forest now dominates, there used to be a game park that was used for centuries by the de Lannoy count family as a private hunting ground.
Fallow deer and Merino sheep were kept in this area. The clearings that once offered the castle a free view of the animals are still visible today. Those who look closely can even discover relics from this time.
The approximately three-kilometer circular route is classified as moderate due to the elevation gain and leads to six stations with QR codes as well as an audio station. They provide insights into the history of the park, tell about the everyday life of the count family, and convey an image of the hunting culture of the time.
Along the route, there are repeated opportunities to pause briefly—whether on a bench in the shade or at one of the places particularly closely connected to the history of the park.
